About the show
Witney Dramatic Society are proud to present our production of Aladdin, the pantomime by Nigel Holmes.
It’s panto time again (oh, yes it is!) so hold onto your magic carpets, because in February 2024, Witney Dramatic Society is going to entertain you with their performance of Aladdin!
Join our hero Aladdin, accompanied by his loveable sidekick Wishee and the fabulous Widow Twankey as they embark upon a magical journey through the streets and markets of old Peking. Will our lad find the magic lamp and win the love of the beautiful Princess Yasmine (bearing in mind no one is allowed to set eyes on her)? Will the villainous Abanazar succeed in his plot to be the Emperor of the Universe? Will the Spirit of the Ring ever manage to get her magic poetry to rhyme?
Come and see our genie-us combination of magic, mischief, toe-tapping songs, audience participation and Widow Twankey's washing!
See you there!

The Good Life’ - The classic TV 70's Comedy on Stage!
Dust off your flares, grab your gardening gloves and get ready to go back in time to the groovy era of the 1970s with our hilarious stage adaptation of "The Good Life", brought to life on stage by scriptwriter Jeremy Sams, based on the beloved classic TV series by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey.
Come and join the lovable characters of Tom and Barbara Good as they decide to shun the rat race and instead embrace a self-sufficient lifestyle in the Surrey suburbs, much to the bewilderment of their social climbing neighbours, Jerry and Margot Leadbetter.
With its quirky humour, endearing relationships, Margo’s unwavering stage ambitions, the odd escaping goat, an expectant pig and the best dressed scarecrow in Surrey, come and relive some of the witty banter and special moments that made ‘The Good Life’ such a household favourite.
Whether you’re a fan of the original TV series or new to the world of Tom and Barbara, this evening promises feel-good fun, laughter and just a little bit of compost!
See you there!
This play is an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
Adapted by Jeremy Sams, based upon the TV series by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey.
